General Summary:
Provide advice and counsel to Managers, Supervisors, and employees as to Human Resources policies and procedures. Listen to employees’ concerns and provide feedback to Managers to ensure corrective action is taken. Provide feedback to Managers regarding employee morale and give suggestions to resolve any problem areas. Work side by side with General Manager to ensure Barnes Operations and Business Priorities are being met.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (Essential Functions)
• Review hourly and salary job descriptions to ensure they are current and correct
• Monitor hourly and salary performance evaluations and ensure that performance evaluations are completed
• Responsible for all policies, procedures, and programs
• Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures
• Prepare and maintain Employee Reference Manual
• Create and maintain Affirmative Action files
• Ensure that jobs are posted, qualified applicants are interviewed, and candidates are selected properly
• Handle terminations and compile information from exit interviews
• Interface with legal counsel when necessary
• Prepare and assist Helpside with payroll bi-weekly
• Track employee’s vacation use and accrual
• Maintain facility bulletin boards in an up-to-date legal compliance manner
• Have a thorough understanding of the company structure
• Maintain and update company organization chart
• Update and submit monthly reports
• Assists the EHS Manager in reducing workers' compensation costs, recordable injury rates, and ensures that the facility maintains OSHA compliance
• Understand and be involved with the company’s business and financial strategies
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Keep employee records for safety and departmental training

- Bachelor’s degree in business management, Human Resources, or related discipline and at least two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of state and federal labor laws
- Must be detail-oriented and organized
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to make sound, well-thought-out decisions
- Ability to solve problems analytically and independently
- Ability to diffuse highly emotional situations and offer options for resolutions
- Must have excellent leadership skills
- Must be computer literate
- Ability to speak, read and write in the English language sufficient enough to perform the following:
- Communicate effectively with other team members and supervision
- Read and comprehend process instructions
- Record pertinent process information as required
