Product Details

New for 2026- The .338" 200gr TAC-TX BT was purpose-built and optimized for the 8.6 BLK, with a focus on reliable performance from short-barreled platforms. Its unique profile promotes flawless feeding while helping maximize velocity, delivering devastating terminal performance even from compact firearms with barrels as short as 8".

The internal cavity was specifically tuned for the 8.6 BLK and its unconventional 1:3 twist rate. With a 1:3 twist, shooters can expect 1.8X diameter expansion down to 1,400 fps. The bullet also performs well in 1:6 twist barrels, although expanded diameter may be slightly reduced and the minimum expansion velocity slightly higher. Traditional 1:10 twist rates commonly found in legacy .338 CAL cartridges will stabilize the bullet; however, when used in higher-velocity magnum cartridges, some weight loss should be expected due to increased impact velocity

  • Barnes 200g TTSX in 8.6 Blackout

First, I’ve concluded that the 120g TTSX is the best supersonic round in 300 Blackout, so I was excited to get this in 8.6 BO. I couldn’t find the load data used by Barnes to get speeds of 2300 plus. Maybe I emailed the wrong department. Yesterday, I used the same load I had been using in the 210 grain offering, 30 grains of Accurate 1480. The speeds were consistent at 2035 fps, and the accuracy was exceptional. Last night I shot a hog at 50 yards. She dropped immediately, and so did the hog behind her. As I watched for the two to rise and run (which never happened), I had a brief moment to shoot at a running hog, a little over 100 yards away. He too dropped like a rock. The round exceeded my expectations. The wound damage was catastrophic, so I took some pics. The shots were also recorded in video. Unfortunately, none of the rounds were recovered. They passed through everything. I use the 300 Blackout, 458 Socom, and 8.6 Blackout to hunt hogs and coyotes with thermal scopes, all on bolt guns. This offering in 8.6 Blackout is my favorite supersonic round I’ve used.
